Smart Meters

Energy Intelligence From Smart Meter Data

Voltaware turns the smart meter readings you already collect into appliance-level insights your customers can act on. Send interval readings, describe the home once, and receive monthly disaggregation, solar analytics, scores and ready-made reports to power your apps, bills and engagement programmes.

What You Get

Appliance breakdown

Monthly consumption split across heating, cooking, washing, fridge, EV, air conditioning, lighting & electronics, standby and more.

Solar analytics

Daily and monthly production, self-consumption, grid import and export for every PV home.

Electric vehicle detection

EV consumption identified from the meter alone, with every charging session reported.

Battery-aware

Declare home storage so results account for it, with data-quality flags when a battery is detected.

VoltaScore & recommendations

A 1–100 score per home and per appliance, benchmarked against similar homes, with personalised tips.

Appliance inventory

One list per home of the appliances it has, each marked as inferred from the meter or declared by the owner, alongside its solar and battery setup.

Monthly reports

One document with day-by-day usage, breakdown, insights, solar and carbon footprint.

1

Stream readings

Publish 15, 30 or 60-minute meter data over secure MQTT. Up to 3 months of history is processed automatically.

2

Describe the home

Add property, appliance, solar, battery and location details via our HTTPS API to sharpen accuracy.

3

Retrieve insights

Pull monthly results as JSON and build them into your own apps, bills and reports.

The Iris Dashboard. Integration runs machine to machine. Alongside it, Iris gives your team a visual view of the integration: data coverage, data quality, processing runs and your integration specs.

A Look At The API

Readings go in over MQTT; results come back as JSON from a simple REST API. Samples use illustrative data, and the charts show it the way the Iris Dashboard does.

Stream readings over MQTT

Publish one JSON message per meter per day, at 15, 30 or 60-minute resolution. Solar homes send import and export side by side. History of up to three months is processed automatically, and re-sending a reading is always safe.

Know what the home has

Every home comes back as one list of the appliances it has — those the training inferred from the meter alone, and those the owner declared. Each entry names the category its consumption lands in, so the list reconciles with the monthly breakdown. Solar and battery come back in the same response.
